Educational Qualification

• Passed Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination from Secondary and/or Higher Secondary Education Board or equivalent qualification recognized by Government
• Minimum one year Sanitary Inspector's Diploma Course from a Government recognized educational institution OR minimum one year Certificate of Health Sanitary Inspectors from Industrial Training Institute (ITI) or other Government recognized institute
• Basic knowledge of Computer Application as prescribed in Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967
• Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both

Salary

• Fixed pay of Rs. 26,000/- per month for first five years
• After five years of satisfactory service, eligible for regular appointment in pay scale of Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 81,100 (Level-4) as per 7th Pay Commission for Municipal Sanitary Inspector posts
• Sanitary Sub Inspector at Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation: after 3 years of satisfactory service, eligible for regular appointment in same pay scale Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 (Level-4); such candidates will NOT be considered Gujarat Government employees

Age Limit

• Minimum 18 years, Maximum 33 years as on 15/09/2025 (original cutoff date retained despite extended application window)
• General category female candidates: 5 years relaxation
• Reserved category male candidates: 5 years relaxation
• Reserved category female candidates: 10 years relaxation (maximum 45 years)
• General category disabled male candidates: 10 years relaxation (maximum 45 years)
• General category disabled female candidates: 15 years relaxation (maximum 45 years)

• Municipal Sanitary Inspector, Class-3 (Urban Development and Urban Housing Department): 145 posts (Unreserved/General-59, EWS-14, SEBC-38, SC-11, ST-23)
• Sanitary Sub Inspector, Class-3 (Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation): 28 posts (Unreserved/General-14, EWS-02, SEBC-07, SC-01, ST-04)
• Total: 173 posts (increased from original 75 posts by addition of 98 posts)
• Candidates required to indicate order of preference between Municipal Sanitary Inspector (state municipalities) and Sanitary Sub Inspector (Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation) at time of document verification; preference order final once submitted
• No waiting list will be prepared for this recruitment

• Examination pattern: Part-A (60 marks - Logical Tests & Data Interpretation, Mathematical Tests) and Part-B (150 marks - Constitution of India/Current Affairs/Gujarati & English Comprehension plus subject related to educational qualification); total 210 questions, 3 hours combined duration
• Negative marking: 1/4 mark deducted for each wrong answer
• Minimum qualifying standard: 40% separately in both Part-A and Part-B
• Sanitary Sub Inspector post at Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation carries 1 PwBD vacancy (Locomotor disability category)
