Educational Qualification
- Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or equivalent qualification recognised by Central Government (as on 31.12.2026)
- Final year/semester students may apply provisionally, subject to passing by 31.12.2026
- Matriculate Ex-servicemen with Army/Navy/Air Force Special Certificate of Education (15+ years service) also eligible
- Candidates must be proficient in specified local language of the State/UT applied for (reading, writing, speaking, understanding)
Salary
- Pay Scale: Rs. 24050-1340/3-28070-1650/3-33020-2000/4-41020-2340/7-57400-4400/1-61800-2680/1-64480
- Starting Basic Pay: Rs. 26,730 (Rs. 24,050 + 2 advance increments for graduates)
- Total starting emoluments at Metro (e.g. Mumbai): approx Rs. 46,000/month (inclusive of DA, allowances, 2 increments)

- SC/ST relaxation: 5 years

- Phase I: Preliminary Examination (Online, 100 marks, 1 hour) - English Language, Numerical Ability, Reasoning Ability
- Phase II: Main Examination (Online, 200 marks) - General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude
- Phase III: Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) for those without 10th/12th in specified language
- Negative marking: 1/4th mark deducted per wrong answer

- Preliminary Exam tentatively September 2026; Main Exam tentatively Oct/Nov 2026
- SBI clerical cadre employees and those who resigned from clerical cadre NOT eligible
- Trained SBI Apprentices get 2.5% bonus marks (5 out of 200) in Main Exam if eligibility conditions met
- Probation period: minimum 6 months; e-lessons completion required for confirmation
- Wait list up to 50% of vacancies maintained, valid for 1 year from result declaration
