All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is India's premier medical institution and a group of autonomous government public medical colleges. AIIMS New Delhi was established in 1956 and serves as a model for medical education and research in India.
About NORCET:
NORCET (Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test) is a common eligibility test conducted by AIIMS for recruitment of Nursing Officers at Level 07 in Pay Matrix across all AIIMS in India. NORCET 10 is the 10th edition of this examination.
Scope of NORCET 10:
Candidates qualifying in NORCET 10 will be eligible for appointment as Nursing Officer in:
- AIIMS New Delhi
- AIIMS across India (as per vacancies)
- Other participating AIIMS institutes
The vacancies will be notified by respective institutes based on their requirements.
📚 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1. Educational Qualification:
Essential Qualification - Option I:
a) Academic Qualification:
- B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing from Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council recognized Institute or University OR
- B.Sc. (Post-Certificate) / Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing from Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council recognized Institute/University
b) Registration:
- Registered as Nurses & Midwife with State/Indian Nursing Council
Essential Qualification - Option II:
a) Academic Qualification:
- Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery from Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council recognized Institute/Board or Council
b) Registration:
- Registered as Nurses & Midwife in State/Indian Nursing Council
c) Experience:
- Two Years' Experience in a minimum 50-bedded Hospital after acquiring the educational qualification mentioned above as applicable for all Participating AIIMS
Important Remarks on Experience:
⚠️ The required two years of experience is an essential criterion and to be valid, the experience shall must be acquired:
- After obtaining Essential Qualification (i.e., after completing residency period of the course)
- After declaration of result
- After registration with State/Indian Nursing Council
Experience before completion of qualification is NOT valid.
Additional Notes on Qualification:
✅ Recognized Qualifications:
- Only degrees/diplomas from Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council recognized institutions are valid
- Foreign degrees must have equivalence from Indian Nursing Council
✅ Registration Mandatory:
- Valid registration with State Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council is compulsory
- Registration certificate must be submitted at document verification
✅ For GNM Candidates:
- 2 years hospital experience mandatory
- Experience in minimum 50-bedded hospital
- Experience certificate from hospital administration required
2. Age Limit:
As on Last Date of Application Form (16.03.2026):
For All AIIMS: Between 18-30 Years
Age Calculation Date: Last date of closing of application form (16.03.2026)
Example:
- Born on 17.03.1996 or before: Eligible (30+ years - NOT eligible)
- Born between 17.03.1996 and 16.03.2008: Eligible
- Born on 17.03.2008 or after: NOT eligible (below 18 years)
Age Relaxation:
As per detail on Age relaxation given in General Conditions subject to age Relaxation as per Recruitment rules of respective Institutes/Hospitals.
Standard Age Relaxation (as per Govt. of India rules):

Note:
- Age relaxation details as per individual AIIMS recruitment rules
- Documentary proof required at document verification
- No relaxation for general category candidates
3. Nationality:
- Indian Citizen
- Applicable to Indian nationals residing in India and abroad
4. Physical & Medical Standards:
- Physically and medically fit for nursing duties
- Able to work in hospital environment (including night shifts)
- Medical fitness certificate required at time of joining
- As per AIIMS medical standards for nursing staff
💰 APPLICATION FEE

Important Notes:
⚠️ Application fee once remitted shall NOT be refunded under any circumstances.
⚠️ Applications without the prescribed fee would not be considered and summarily rejected.
✅ Application Fees of SC/ST candidates who appear in the Examination will be refunded after declaration of results in due course of time after verification of SC/ST certificate.

📋 EXAMINATION PATTERN
Examination Mode: Computer Based Test (CBT) - Online
Two-Stage Examination:
Stage-I: NORCET Preliminary
- Date: 11th April 2026 (Saturday)
- Mode: Online CBT
- Purpose: Preliminary screening test
Stage-II: NORCET Mains
- Date: 30th April 2026 (Thursday)
- Mode: Online CBT
- Purpose: Final selection test

Important Notes
1. Registration & Eligibility:
- Nursing Council registration is mandatory
- Experience (for GNM) must be post-qualification
- Only 50+ bedded hospital experience valid
2. Application Guidelines:
- Apply online only through official website
- One candidate can apply only once
- Multiple applications will be rejected
- Fill form carefully - no corrections allowed after submission
3. Document Requirements:
- All certificates must be from recognized institutions
- Registration certificate mandatory
- Experience certificate with hospital seal required
- Category certificates as per Government format
4. Fee Payment:
- Fee non-refundable (except SC/ST after appearing in exam)
- Keep payment receipt safe
- Applications without fee will be rejected
5. Admit Card:
- Download from website before exam
- Carry hard copy to exam center
- Original Photo ID mandatory
6. Important Warnings:
- Providing false information = Disqualification
- Using unfair means = Permanent ban
- Impersonation = Legal action
7. For PwBD Candidates:
- Fee exempted
- Scribe facility available (if required)
- Compensatory time provided
