2. Educational Qualification
- Minimum: MBBS (written + practical final exam passed) from a recognized university
- Final Year Appearing: Candidates appearing in final MBBS exam may also apply provisionally
- Internship: Candidates who have not completed compulsory rotating internship are eligible to apply but will be appointed only after internship completion
- Only regular full-time MBBS accepted — no distance/correspondence course

5. Selection Process
Stage 1 – Written Examination (500 Marks)
- Paper I: General Medicine & Paediatrics — 120 MCQs — 250 Marks — 2 Hours
- Paper II: Surgery + Gynaecology & Obstetrics + Preventive & Social Medicine — 120 MCQs — 250 Marks — 2 Hours
- Negative Marking: 1/3 marks deducted per wrong answer
- Question papers in English only, MBBS standard
Stage 2 – Personality Test / Interview (100 Marks)
- Candidates qualifying written exam called for Interview
- Tests general knowledge, medical knowledge, personality & leadership
Final Merit: Written Exam (500) + Interview (100) = 600 Marks

- Passport-size photograph (scanned, JPG, 20 KB – 200 KB)
- Signature scan (JPG, 20 KB – 100 KB, sign 3 times on white paper in black ink)
- Valid Aadhaar / Voter ID / PAN / Passport / Driving License
Important Notes
- Report to exam venue at least 30 minutes early — no late entry allowed
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices strictly banned at exam centre
- Allotment of exam centres on first-apply-first-allot basis — apply early to get preferred centre
- Candidates already in government service must inform their Head of Department in writing before applying
- UPSC results will be displayed on Pratibha Setu Portal for non-recommended candidates — private companies can view their profile for employment
