Note: Vacancies are tentative. GPSC reserves the right to increase/decrease vacancies. A waitlist of 20% per category will also be prepared.

2. Educational Qualification

Essential: Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com) OR Chartered Accountant (CA) from ICAI OR ICWA/CMA from ICMAI OR Company Secretary (CS) from ICSI — from any recognised University/Institution under UGC Act 1956.

Additional requirements (mandatory at appointment):

• Basic Computer Knowledge (CCC or equivalent) as per Gujarat Civil Services Rules 1967
• Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both

Note: Candidates appearing in final year/semester of qualifying examination are also eligible for Preliminary Exam, subject to producing proof of passing at Main Exam stage.

4. Salary / Pay Scale

Additional allowances as per Government rules. No increment during 2-year probation period (increment approved by competent authority on satisfactory completion). Promotion opportunities to higher posts as per recruitment rules.

5. Selection Process

Stage 1 – Preliminary Examination (Objective / MCQ type) — Screening Test Only:

• Medium: Gujarati and English
• Standard: Graduate level (MCQ)
• This is a screening test only — marks NOT counted in final selection
• Approx. 15× the number of vacancies will be called for Main Exam
• Attendance in both papers is mandatory — absence in either leads to cancellation

Stage 2 – Main (Written) Examination (Descriptive / Conventional Type):

Stage 3 – Viva Voce (Personal Interview): 100 Marks

• Approx. 3× the number of vacancies called for Viva

Final Selection: Based on Main Written Exam marks + Viva Voce marks combined

• Non-Creamy Layer Certificate for SEBC (valid for 3 financial years)
• EWS Certificate in prescribed format (valid for 3 financial years)
• PwD Disability Certificate – Form V/VI/VII as per RPwD Rules 2017 (min 40% disability)
• Ex-Servicemen Discharge Book copy (if applicable)
• NOC from present employer (if working in Govt./PSU/Co-operative body)
• Widow Certificate + Affidavit of non-remarriage (if applicable) — for 5% bonus marks
