3. Login with your OTR (One Time Registration) number and date of birth — register first if not done
4. Fill Personal Details — name, DOB, gender, category exactly as per SSC certificate
5. Fill Communication Details — current/permanent address, mobile, email (type manually, no copy-paste)
6. Fill Other Details — disability, widow status, ex-servicemen, sports details
7. Fill Language Details — tick languages you can read, write and speak
8. Upload Photograph — white background, with date, JPG format, max 10 KB, size 5 cm × 3.6 cm; date not more than 1 year before last date
9. Upload Signature — on white paper in black/blue ink, JPG, max 10 KB, size 2.5 cm × 7.5 cm
10. Fill Educational Qualification and Experience Details (if applicable)
11. Read and accept Declaration — click Yes
12. Submit the form — note your Application Number and Confirmation Number
13. Pay ₹100 fee via Post Office or online (UR candidates only)
14. Download and print the confirmed application form — keep it safe

2. Educational Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in any one of the following subjects as principal subject from a recognised University/Institution: Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Zoology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Bio-chemistry, Environmental Science, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Agriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Engineering/Technology

Important conditions:

• Candidates with B.Sc. (Agriculture) / B.Sc. (Horticulture) / B.Sc. (Forestry) must have degree from an Agriculture/Horticulture University established under Central or State Agriculture/Horticulture Universities Act
• Special Benefit: Candidates with B.Sc. Forestry as principal subject are eligible for additional 10% marks of total marks obtained in Main Written Exam and Interview
• Basic Computer Knowledge as prescribed in Gujarat Civil Services Rules 1967 is mandatory
• Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both is required
• Candidates appearing in final exam but result not yet declared may apply for Preliminary Exam

3. Minimum Physical Standards (Mandatory)

Disqualifying Physical Conditions: Knock knee, Squint eye, Flat feet, Varicose Veins, Hammer toes, Fractured limb, Communicable/skin disease, Colour blindness, History of psychiatric ailments.

Walking Test (after GPSC recommendation):

• Male candidates: 25 km within 4 hours
• Female candidates: 14 km within 4 hours
• One additional chance given if failed in first attempt; no appointment if failed second time

5. Salary / Pay Scale

Additional allowances as per government rules. No increment during the 2-year probation period (however increment approved by competent authority on satisfactory completion). Promotion opportunities to higher posts as per recruitment rules.

6. Selection Process

Stage 1 – Preliminary Examination (Objective / MCQ type)

• Medium: Gujarati and English
• Standard: Graduate level (MCQ)
• This is a screening test only — marks NOT counted in final selection
• Approx. 15× the number of vacancies will be called for Main Exam
• Attendance in all papers is mandatory — absence in any paper leads to cancellation

Stage 2 – Main (Written) Examination (Descriptive Type)

Stage 3 – Viva Voce (Personal Interview): 100 Marks

• Approx. 3× the number of vacancies called
• Physical measurements taken on Viva day by Government Medical Officer
• Candidates not meeting physical standards will not be allowed for Viva

Final Selection: Based on total of Main Written Exam marks + Viva Voce marks

• Ex-Servicemen Discharge Book copy
• NOC from present employer (if working in Govt./PSU/Co-operative body)
• Widow Certificate + Affidavit of non-remarriage (if applicable)
• Computer Knowledge (CCC) Certificate
• Bar-coded application form printout

• B.Sc. Forestry candidates get 10% additional marks in Main Written Exam and Interview — a significant advantage
• Walking Test is mandatory after GPSC recommendation — prepare physically
• PwD Disability Certificate must be in Form V/VI/VII as per RPwD Rules 2017 — old formats are not accepted
• Physical measurement will be taken on the Viva day — candidates not meeting standards will not be allowed in the interview
