Eligibility
Educational Qualification:
- B.E. (Agriculture/Horticulture) from a recognised university
- 3 years of relevant experience in a government, semi-government, board, corporation, or a company registered under the Companies Act 2013
- Experience counts only after obtaining the required qualification
- In case of equal merit marks, a candidate with higher relevant qualification gets preference
Other Requirements:
- Knowledge of computers
- Sufficient knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi
Age Limit:
- Minimum 18 years and maximum 35 years as on the last date of application
- Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation employees get no age concession, but the absolute maximum age is 58 years
- For all categories, age after relaxation cannot exceed 45 years

Important notes
Application & Fee
- Online applications are accepted from 05/10/2026 (2:00 PM) to 20/10/2026 (11:59 PM).
- An application is valid only after a Confirmation Number is generated.
- Fee is accepted only through the post office. Cash, demand draft, postal order and pay order are not accepted.
- Applications without fee are liable to be cancelled and such candidates will not be allowed to sit in the exam.
- If multiple applications are made, only the last confirmed one with the proper fee is valid. Extra fees are not refunded.
- Candidates from other states who do not get Gujarat reservation benefits must pay the fee as above.
Communication & Document Verification
- Do not post the application and challan now. Send them by RPAD/Speed Post or deliver in a sealed cover only when BMC asks.
- Original documents and self-attested copies of all mark sheets (all years/semesters) must be shown at verification. Certificates issued by a college principal are not accepted.
- Experience certificates must also be shown.
- Ex-servicemen must submit the service certificate issued by the District Soldier Welfare Office on demand; failure leads to cancellation of selection.
- PwD candidates must submit a certificate from a government hospital Superintendent/Civil Surgeon/Medical Board in the prescribed format; otherwise selection is cancelled.
- Widow candidates who have not remarried must submit an affidavit at verification.
- SEBC candidates need a non-creamy layer certificate, valid for three financial years, issued on or before the last date of application.
- Candidates without a computer certificate may apply but must pass the basic computer knowledge test before appointment.
General Guidelines
- Age, qualification, experience and non-creamy layer status are checked as on the last date of application.
- Candidates must hold the qualification on the last date; provisional claims are not accepted.
- Equivalent qualification claims need proof of the government order establishing equivalence.
- Marks given as CGPA/CPI/SGPA/grade must be converted to percentage using the university formula; entering CGPA in the form will lead to rejection.
- Any error in the online form can lead to cancellation of the application.
- Government/semi-government employees may apply directly but must inform their department within 7 days; a No Objection Certificate is required.
- Candidates who were ever disqualified, compulsorily retired, removed or dismissed must disclose it in the application.
- Selected serving employees must resign from their old post before joining, and previous service is not counted.
- BMC selection committee may set a cut-off, prepare a merit list and call only shortlisted candidates for a written or oral test.
- Candidates attend the written/oral test at their own expense; the medium of the written test is Gujarati (English for English subject).
- The panel (waiting list) is valid for 2 years or until the next result, whichever is earlier.
- The Commissioner may change the number of posts, and the Commissioner's decision is final and binding.
