Important notes

General Guidelines

  1. Only candidates with a confirmed online application and paid fees can appear in the Main Written Examination.
  2. The High Court may adjust or change the number of notified vacancies at any stage.
  3. Candidates must travel at their own expense for the written exam and interview.
  4. Stage-wise marks will be shared only after the full recruitment ends, through a link on HC-OJAS with an OTP sent by SMS. Disqualified candidates will not get this link.
  5. Passing the exam does not guarantee appointment. The High Court must be satisfied that the candidate is suitable in all respects.
  6. RTI applications about this recruitment will not be accepted until the whole process is complete.
  7. The High Court's decision on all matters of this recruitment is final and binding.

Examination Rules

  1. The written exam will be held at Ahmedabad or at centres decided by the High Court.
  2. The question paper will be in English, except for the Gujarati language questions.
  3. The exam is conducted on an OMR sheet or other mode chosen by the High Court. No re-evaluation or rechecking of OMR sheets is allowed.
  4. If many candidates qualify in the written exam, the High Court may limit the number called for interview based on merit.
  5. Candidates without an e-Call Letter will not be allowed to appear in the exam or interview.

Posting and District Preference

  1. A fourth district will be decided by the High Court based on vacancies and merit.
  2. Vacancies are filled in merit order, first for District Judiciary and then for Industrial Courts and Labour Courts.
  3. If a candidate cannot be placed in a preferred district, he or she may be posted in any other district. District preference gives no right to a specific posting.
  4. Requests to change district preference will be rejected outright.
  5. For the Industrial Courts and Labour Courts post, the President, Industrial Courts, Ahmedabad will allot the posting, and the candidate must accept it.
  6. A candidate who refuses the appointment loses the right to appointment from the Select List.
  7. The Centralized Wait-List will have no more than 10% of notified vacancies. The Select List and Wait-List stay valid for 1 year or until vacancies are filled, whichever is earlier.

Disqualification

  1. Dismissal from service by any Central, State, UT, High Court, statutory or local authority.
  2. Conviction for an offence involving moral turpitude, or being debarred by any High Court, Public Service Commission or recruiting body.
  3. Directly or indirectly trying to influence the recruiting authority.
  4. A man with more than one living wife, or a woman married to a man who already has another wife.
  5. Possessing any electronic gadget or using unfair means during any exam or test.
