About the scheme

The Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana (MYSY) is a Gujarat Government scholarship scheme run by the Education Department. It helps meritorious students from families with limited income to pay for higher education. The online application window for 2026-27 is now open. It accepts three types of application: fresh, renewal and delayed.

How to apply

  1. Open the official MYSY portal at mysy.gujarat.gov.in.
  2. New applicants should choose Student Registration. Students already registered, and renewal applicants, should choose Student Login.
  3. Log in with the OTP sent to your mobile number. Password login is not available.
  4. Fill in your personal, academic and bank details and upload the required documents.
  5. Submit the form and keep a printout or the application number.
  6. Get your documents verified at your institute before the verification deadline.

Documents required

  • Class 10 and 12 marksheets
  • Valid income certificate
  • College admission proof
  • Domicile proof
  • Aadhaar card
  • Bank passbook linked to Aadhaar
  • Affidavit, if the portal asks for one

  • Last date for online application: 30 October 2026, 6:00 PM
  • Last date for document verification: 5 November 2026

Eligibility

- Student who is a resident of Gujarat - Taking admission in a higher education course covered by the scheme - Family income within the limit set by the scheme (reported as about Rs 6 lakh a year; check the portal for the current limit) - Minimum marks in the qualifying Class 10 or 12 exam as per the course (a third-party site reports 80% for Diploma) - Renewal applicants must meet the pass-marks and attendance conditions on the portal - Students holding an income certificate from 2023-24 must get a fresh one by the application deadline or 31 March 2027, whichever is earlier

Key Benefits

- Tuition fee assistance for eligible students in medical, engineering, diploma and other degree courses - Reported yearly amounts (from a third-party site, so confirm on the portal): up to Rs 2 lakh for medical, Rs 50,000 for engineering and professional courses, Rs 25,000 for diploma and Rs 10,000 for other undergraduate courses - Hostel and books/equipment support for eligible students
