Vacancies span clinical and non-clinical departments such as Anatomy, Biochemistry, Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Orthopedics and Radiology. Retired or working Professors may also apply.

Eligibility

Educational Qualification: As per the latest National Medical Commission (NMC/MCI) guidelines for the respective post and department. Candidates must hold updated Medical Registration (NMC/State Medical Council) with all post-MBBS/MD/MS qualifications.

Age Limit (as on 26.10.2026):

  • Teaching faculty (Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor): not exceeding 67 years
  • Senior Resident: not exceeding 45 years

Age Relaxation: As per prevailing norms of Government of India.

Who Can Apply:

  • Retired or working Professors can also apply for eligible posts
  • Candidates may apply for multiple posts if eligible for each
  • Candidates working in Govt./Autonomous/Statutory institutions should preferably carry an NOC from their employer

Registration Condition: If the medical registration is not updated, show and submit a copy of the 'Applied for' document at the interview. Otherwise the candidate may not be interviewed or the result may be withheld. Selected candidates must submit the updated certificate before joining.

Cut-off Date: Age, qualification and other eligibility are determined as on 26-10-2026.

Non-medical Officers: If selected, they are not entitled to Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA).

Important notes

General Guidelines

  1. Vacancies are provisional and may increase or decrease as per actual requirement.
  2. The Competent Authority may amend or cancel the advertisement, in whole or in part, without notice.
  3. Reservation is as per Government of India guidelines issued from time to time.
  4. If no eligible reserved-category candidate is available, the post may be filled by temporary engagement for 44 days, extendable by another 44 days.

Contract Terms

  1. Teaching faculty contract is for 1 year, extendable by 2 more years based on satisfactory performance (maximum 3 years). It ends on joining of a regular faculty member or at age 70, whichever is earlier.
  2. Senior Resident contract is for 1 year, extendable up to 3 years, and ends on joining of a regular incumbent or at age 50, whichever is earlier.
  3. Services can be terminated at any time in the public interest without notice or reason.
  4. To resign, give one month's advance notice or deposit one month's salary; otherwise the salary and security deposit are forfeited and legal action may follow.
  5. No Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, Medical benefits, Seniority, Promotion or similar benefits are admissible.
  6. Absence of more than 7 days without approval is treated as voluntary abandonment, resulting in automatic termination.
  7. Attendance must be recorded manually and through AEBAS (Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System) daily.
  8. No private practice is permitted after joining.

Reservation & PwBD

  1. PwBD reservation is as per prevailing Government of India guidelines and is carried forward if candidates are unavailable.
  2. PwBD-quota candidates are adjusted against the vacancy of their respective SC/ST/OBC/EWS/General category.
  3. Without a valid reservation certificate in the Central Govt. format, the candidate is treated as UR.
  4. EWS certificate must be as per Annexure-I of DoPT OM No. 36039/1/2019-Estt (Res).
  5. OBC-NCL certificate must be issued not earlier than one year before the cut-off date (26-10-2026), in the Central Govt. format, by an officer not below Sub-Divisional Officer rank.

Application & Interview

  1. Application fee, once paid, is non-refundable.
  2. Applications in any other format or incomplete applications will be summarily rejected.
  3. False declarations lead to cancellation of candidature at any stage.
  4. Submitting an application does not give a right to an interview unless you report on time with the required documents; the interview is provisional, subject to detailed scrutiny.
  5. The Dean may cancel or postpone the recruitment process at any stage without notice.
  6. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
  7. Results and any corrigendum/addendum will be published only on www.esic.gov.in; check it regularly. Offer of appointment will be sent by email only.
