GSSSB Research Assistant and Statistical Assistant Bharti 2026 - 41 Posts

Gujarat Gaun Seva Pasandagi Mandal (GSSSB) has released the Research Assistant Statistical Assistant GSSSB Bharti 2026 notification (Advertisement No. 457/202627), inviting online applications for 41 Class-3 posts — Research Assistant (Sanshodhan Madadnish) and Statistical Assistant (Aankda Madadnish) — under the Directorate of Statistics and Economics, Gandhinagar, functioning under the General Administration Department. Candidates holding a Postgraduate degree, or a Bachelor's degree with Statistics, Economics, Mathematics or a related subject as principal subject, can apply online through ojas.gujarat.gov.in from 09th September 2026 (2:00 PM) to 23rd September 2026 (11:59 PM).

This recruitment is conducted as per the educational qualifications notified separately for Research Assistant (Notification No. GS/7/2025/GAD/EOC/e-file/1/2024/5326/S dated 19/04/2025) and Statistical Assistant (Notification No. GS/2025/8/GAD/EOC/e-file/1/2023/6476/S dated 25/04/2025). A minimum of 85% of vacancies are reserved for original residents of Gujarat State. Vacancies specifically reserved for Divyang (PwBD) candidates will be advertised separately under a special recruitment drive for persons with disabilities, and are not included in this notification's vacancy count.

Qualification: Candidates must possess a Postgraduate degree or a Bachelor's degree with Statistics, Applied Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, Business Statistics, Economics, Applied Economics, Business Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics or Advanced Statistics as a principal subject, obtained from a University established under a State Act in India or a UGC-recognized institution. Candidates must also possess basic knowledge of computer applications as prescribed in Gujarat Civil Services and Recruitment (General) Rules, and adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both languages.

Age Limit: Candidate's age must not be less than 18 years and not more than 37 years as on 23/09/2026. Upper age limit may be relaxed for candidates already in Gujarat Government service as per rules.

Reservation Notes: Reserved category benefits (age relaxation, SC/ST/SEBC/EWS reservation) apply only to original residents of Gujarat State. Ex-servicemen have 10% reservation, and PwBD vacancies for this cadre will be advertised separately under a special drive. SEBC candidates must submit a valid Non-Creamy Layer certificate, and EWS candidates must submit a valid Income and Asset certificate as per the prescribed format and validity period.

1. Visit the official OJAS website at https://ojas.gujarat.gov.in.
2. Click on 'Online Application' and select 'Apply', then choose GSSSB.
3. Click on the name of the post under Advertisement No. 457/202627, Class-3 cadre, to apply, and read 'More Details' for the full notification before proceeding.
4. Click 'Apply now', then 'Skip' to open the Application Format, and fill in 'Personal Details' (fields marked with * are mandatory).
5. Fill in the 'Educational Details' section with your qualification information.
6. Accept the terms under 'Assurance' by selecting 'Yes' and click 'Save' to complete the application; an Application Number will be generated — save it carefully.
7. Click 'Upload Photograph', enter your Application Number and Date of Birth, then upload your photo (5 cm height x 3.6 cm width) and signature (2.5 cm height x 7.5 cm width) in JPG format under 15 KB each.
8. Click 'Confirm Application' in the Online Application tab, enter Application Number and Date of Birth, review your Basic Details, make edits if needed, and click 'Confirm Application' — no changes are possible after confirmation. A Confirmation Number will be generated; save it.
9. Pay the examination fee online via Debit Card, Internet Banking, UPI or Wallet by clicking 'Print Application Form / Pay Fees', then 'Online Payment of Fees', before the fee payment deadline of 26/09/2026 (11:59 PM); save the fee receipt.
10. Click 'Print Application' to download and save a printout of your submitted application form for future reference.

• EWS Certificate as per Annexure-KH (English) or Parishisht-Ga (Gujarati) format, obtained between 24/09/2023 and 23/09/2026, or Income and Asset Certificate based on FY 2024-25 income obtained between 01/04/2026 and 23/09/2026
