POWERGRID Engineer Trainee Bharti 2026 - 319 ET Posts through GATE 2026

POWERGRID Engineer Trainee Bharti 2026 is open for 319 Engineer Trainee posts in the Electrical, Civil and Computer Science disciplines. Engineering graduates who have qualified GATE 2026 can apply online on the POWERGRID website until 18 November 2026.

This is Notice No. 2 dated 03 November 2026, issued in continuation of POWERGRID's main Advertisement No. CC/04/2025 dated 27.09.2025 for Engineer Trainee recruitment through GATE 2026. Full rules on eligibility, age relaxation, compensation, health standards and the service agreement bond are given in that main advertisement, so candidates should read it before applying.

Selected trainees may be posted at any POWERGRID office, substation, transmission line office, construction site or subsidiary across India and abroad. Candidates from Gujarat and every other state can apply. POWERGRID actively encourages women candidates to apply.

Educational Qualification

• Engineering degree in the discipline applied for: Electrical (Post ID 566), Civil (Post ID 567) or Computer Science (Post ID 568), as defined in Advt. No. CC/04/2025
• Candidates with a degree in any other discipline are not eligible; POWERGRID keeps the right to take the final decision on accepting a different engineering discipline
• Final-year appearing candidates may apply and must upload their last semester/year marksheet

GATE 2026 Requirement

• Candidates must have appeared and qualified in GATE 2026 in the relevant paper
• GATE 2025 or earlier scores are not valid for this recruitment

Age Limit & Relaxation

This notice does not state the age limit. Age limit, relaxation and concessions for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/EWS/PwBD and other categories are as per the main Advt. No. CC/04/2025 dated 27.09.2025.

PwBD Reservation (Horizontal)

• Electrical (10 vacancies): Locomotor Disability 4, Hearing Impaired 4, Intellectual Disability / Specific Learning Disability / Mental Illness / Multiple Disabilities 2 (interchangeable: LD-03, HI-04, ID-03 first; other suitable sub-categories considered if none available)
• Civil (2 vacancies): interchangeable, first filled by HI-01 and ID-01; other suitable sub-categories considered if none available

Category Declaration

Name and date of birth must match the matriculation certificate. Category must be declared correctly, and the original certificate must be produced whenever POWERGRID asks.

1. Keep your GATE 2026 Admit Card ready, with your GATE Registration No. and GATE Application No.
2. From 03 November 2026 (17:00 hrs), visit the POWERGRID website https://www.powergrid.in/ and open the Job Opportunities section.
3. Register online for Engineer Trainee through GATE 2026 in your discipline.
4. Fill the application form carefully:
   • GATE Registration No. and GATE Application No. exactly as on the GATE 2026 Admit Card
   • Name and other details exactly as entered in the GATE admit card
   • Qualification details including the date of acquiring the qualification
   • Email and alternate email ID, since all communication will be by email
5. Upload your photograph, signature and the required certificates in the prescribed format.
6. Click the Submit button at the end of the page; on acceptance, a unique POWERGRID Registration Number is generated.
7. Pay the application fee online (if applicable) using the instructions at https://www.powergrid.in/online-payment-application-fees.
8. Take a printout of the completed application form and keep it safely.
9. If needed, edit or update the submitted application before 18 November 2026 (23:59 hrs).
