Eligibility

Educational qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Textile Technology, Textile & Fashion Technology, Fashion Design, Textile, Design or a related discipline from a recognized University/Institution.

Desirable skills:

  • Practical proficiency in photography and videography
  • Hands-on knowledge of Canva, Adobe and video-editing software
  • Ability to do field surveys, talk with weavers and artisans, and compile data
  • Knowledge of textile weaving processes and traditional design techniques
  • Experience in field-based research, digital documentation or working with artisans is an advantage

Work profile:

  • Conduct field surveys and visits, and document the heritage
  • Identify, document and digitize traditional Ilkal saree designs and motifs for a digital heritage design library
  • Identify field-level problems and communicate with the weaver community
  • Assist in technical assessment of silk handloom and preparatory processes, and support technology upgradation
  • Assist in data analysis and report preparation
  • Travel independently to the project cluster and villages as directed by the PI/Co-PI
