GMRC Gujarat Metro Bharti 2026 - 13 DGM, Assistant Manager, Section Engineer & Engineer Posts

GMRC Gujarat Metro Bharti 2026 is open for 13 experienced engineering posts at Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Limited. B.E./B.Tech engineers with relevant experience in civil safety, quality control, machines and plants, or metro signalling can apply online on the GMRC website until 18 November 2026.

The notification No. GMRCL/HR/RECT/Nov-2026/29 is dated 03 November 2026. GMRC is a 50:50 joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat that builds, operates and maintains the Ahmedabad Metro and Surat Metro projects. The openings range from Deputy General Manager down to Engineer Jr. Grade, covering Civil-Safety, Civil QA/QC, Machines & Plants (M&P) and Signalling (CBTC/AFTC/PSD).

Posts are on contract, deputation or (for DGM) post-superannuation basis for at least 3 years, extendable up to 5 years based on performance. Selected candidates may be posted in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat or any other GMRC project in Gujarat, and candidates who have worked in Gujarat for 3 years and know Gujarati will get preference.

Qualification: Civil-Safety Posts (DGM, Assistant Manager, Section Engineer)

• Graduate / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a Govt.-recognised university or institute
• Plus a minimum one-year full-time Diploma in Industrial Safety (Section Engineer: Diploma in Safety) from a Govt.-recognised body
• Preference for experience in Metro, Railways, Flyovers, Bridges or High-rise buildings (Section Engineer: Metro, Railways, High Speed Rail or RRTS)

Qualification: Civil QA/QC Posts (DGM, Assistant Manager, Section Engineer)

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a Govt.-recognised university or institute
• Additional certification or diploma in Quality is an added advantage
• Assistant Manager and Section Engineer need relevant experience in civil construction QA/QC

Qualification: Engineer Sr. Grade (M&P)

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Power Electronics, Instrumentation or equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience in tender preparation, contract administration, installation, testing & commissioning or maintenance of Machines & Plants in metro rail or railways
• Preference for modern urban metro rail experience

Qualification: Engineer Jr. Grade (Signalling)

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunications, Applied Electronics, Industrial Electronics, Power Electronics or Instrumentation
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in Signalling (CBTC/AFTC/PSD) in Metro Rail or Railways

Post-Qualification Experience (Govt./PSU vs Private)

• DGM: 8 years in Govt./Semi-Govt./PSU/Metro (6 relevant) OR 10 years in private infrastructure (6 relevant)
• Assistant Manager: 5 years in Govt./PSU/Metro (4 relevant) OR 7 years in private infrastructure (4 relevant)
• Section Engineer: 4 years in Govt./PSU (3 relevant) OR 5 years in private infrastructure (3 relevant)

Maximum Age (as on 03.11.2026)

• Deputy General Manager: 45 years (contract), 57 years (deputation), 62 years (post-superannuation)
• Assistant Manager: 35 years
• Section Engineer, Engineer Sr. Grade and Engineer Jr. Grade: 32 years
• No age limit for existing GMRC employees; this does not apply to officials re-employed after superannuation
• No category-wise age relaxation is mentioned in the notification

Pay Scale / CTC Eligibility

• DGM (Govt./PSU): now in IDA Rs. 70,000-2,00,000 or higher, or CDA Level 10; OR 2 years in IDA Rs. 60,000-1,80,000 or Level 9. Post-superannuation: working or retired from IDA Rs. 70,000-2,00,000 or Level 10. Private: CTC of at least Rs. 1,00,000 per month
• Assistant Manager (Govt./PSU): now in IDA Rs. 50,000-1,60,000 or Level 6; OR 2 years in Rs. 46,000-1,45,000 (non-exec) / Rs. 40,000-1,40,000 (exec) / Level 5; OR 4 years in Rs. 40,000-1,25,000 (non-exec) / Rs. 35,000-1,10,000 (exec). Private: CTC of at least Rs. 70,000 per month
• Section Engineer (Govt./PSU): now in IDA Rs. 40,000-1,40,000; OR 1 year in Rs. 35,000-1,10,000 or higher; OR 2 years in Rs. 30,000-1,20,000. Private: CTC of at least Rs. 50,000 per month
