SCL Mohali Bharti 2026 has been announced by Semi-Conductor Laboratory (SCL), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India. The recruitment is released under Advertisement No. SCL:DR:01/2026, dated 24 October 2026. SCL is India's only Integrated Device Manufacturing facility, handling design, fabrication, assembly, packaging, testing and reliability of ASICs, opto-electronic devices and MEMS. Technical vacancies cover 11 disciplines for Technical Assistant (Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Computer Science, IT, Civil, Chemical, Fire & Safety, Physics, Chemistry) and 12 ITI trades for Technician 'B'.

This is a central government recruitment open to Indian nationals from all states. Gujarat candidates can choose Ahmedabad as their Computer Based Test centre, while the skill test and interview are held only at S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) / Chandigarh. The present posting is at SCL Mohali, but selected staff can be posted anywhere in India.

  • Negative marking: 0.25 mark deducted for every wrong answer in the CBT
  • CBT centres: New Delhi, Chandigarh, Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Kolkata

Eligibility

1. Administrative Officer (SCL 2601)

  • Graduate/Post Graduate in any discipline OR MBA (HR/Personnel Management)
  • Experience: Graduate + 10 years OR PG + 5 years OR MBA (HR) + 2 years in establishment, transport, estate and general administration at supervisory level
  • Knowledge of Govt. rules; computer knowledge desirable

2. Accounts Officer (SCL 2602)

  • Graduate/Post Graduate in any discipline OR MBA (Finance) / CA / ICWA
  • Experience: Graduate + 10 years OR PG + 5 years OR MBA (Finance) + 2 years in finance & accounts, audit, finalisation of accounts, staff benefits, TDS, GST at supervisory level

3. Purchase & Stores Officer (SCL 2603)

  • Graduate/Post Graduate in any discipline OR MBA (Material Management)
  • Experience: Graduate + 10 years OR PG + 5 years OR MBA (Material Management) + 2 years in procurement, import, local purchase or stores management at supervisory level

Supervisory experience rule (Officer posts): Must be at least Level 6 of Pay Matrix (old PB-2 with GP ₹4,200) or a CTC of at least ₹10 LPA, gained after the essential qualification, in a Govt. office, public body or reputed commercial organisation. MBA in any other specialisation is not accepted.

4. Junior Personal Assistant (SCL 2604)

  • 12th pass from a recognised board
  • Stenography: dictation 10 minutes @ 80 wpm; transcription on computer – 50 minutes (English) / 65 minutes (Hindi)

5. Technical Assistant (SCL 2605-1 to 2605-11)

  • First Class 3-year full-time Diploma in the relevant trade: Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Computer Science, IT, Civil, Chemical, Fire & Safety
  • Electronics: Diploma OR First Class B.Sc Electronics also accepted
  • Computer Science: Diploma OR First Class BCA / B.Sc Computer Science also accepted
  • Physics / Chemistry: First Class B.Sc in Physics / Chemistry
  • Plus 2 years' post-qualification experience in an R&D institute / reputed organisation / industry

6. Technician 'B' (SCL 2606-1 to 2606-12)

  • Matriculation/SSLC + 2-year ITI (NCVT) OR National Apprenticeship / National Trade Certificate in the trade
  • Trades: Fitter, ICT System Maintenance, Electrician/Electrical, Electronics, Electronics Mechanic, Instrumentation, Refrigeration & AC, Draughtsman (Civil), Draughtsman (Mechanical), Fire & Safety, Plumber, Mechanic (Diesel)

Important notes

General Guidelines

  1. Posts are temporary but likely to continue; employees are covered under NPS.
  2. SCL can cancel, reduce or increase vacancies without notice.
  3. Higher qualification or extra experience gives no extra advantage in selection.
  4. Administrative posts are purely administrative cadre and technical posts are purely technical cadre; no cross-claim later.
  5. English version of the advertisement prevails in case of any dispute.
  6. Disputes fall under courts having jurisdiction over S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) and Chandigarh.

Eligibility Conditions

  1. Candidature is provisional until documents are verified.
  2. Experience must be gained after acquiring the essential qualification.
  3. Reserved-category candidates selected on merit without relaxed standards are counted against unreserved seats.
  4. Persons with more than one living spouse are not eligible unless exempted by the Central Government.
  5. Applicants must not have any criminal record or pending legal case.
  6. EWS candidates need an Income & Asset certificate valid for FY 2026-27 (based on FY 2025-26 income).

Application & Fee

  1. Only online applications are accepted; any other mode is rejected.
  2. For duplicate applications to the same post code, only the last complete, fee-paid application is considered.
  3. Service charges for online payment are borne by the candidate.
  4. SCL is not responsible for failed, pending or double transactions or for wrong bank details affecting refunds.

Exam & Admit Card

  1. Admit card with exam city is available 10 days before the CBT; full centre address 3 days before.
  2. Tie in marks is resolved by Part-B marks, then Part-A marks, then older age, then alphabetical order.
  3. CBT for all Technical Assistant trades is in the morning session and for all Technician 'B' trades in the afternoon session.
  4. PwBD candidates eligible for a scribe must arrange their own scribe; compensatory time is 20 minutes per hour.
  5. No TA/DA is paid for the CBT.

Communication & Document Verification

  1. All communication, including admit cards, is sent only by SMS/e-mail; check spam folders.
  2. When writing to SCL, mention registration number, application number, roll number, e-mail, mobile, name, DOB and exam name.
  3. Already-employed candidates must submit an original NOC at the skill test/interview, or they will not be allowed and no TA will be paid.
  4. Corrigendum and updates are posted only on www.scl.gov.in/career.html.
