SMC Surat Director IT Radiologist Bharti 2026 - 18 Posts

The SMC Surat Director IT Radiologist Bharti 2026 invites online applications for 18 vacant posts. Surat Municipal Corporation will fill them on a direct-recruitment basis. Candidates can apply on suratmunicipal.gov.in from 9 November 2026 to 23 November 2026.

Post-wise qualification and experience:

• Director (IT): Graduate and post graduate in Computer, Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Information & Communication Technology, Computer Science or IT engineering from a recognized university. Experience of 9 years in IT work on a post in the pay scale of Rs. 8,000-13,500 in a government or semi-government body.
• Radiologist: MD (Radio Diagnosis) or MD (Radiology), or Diplomate of National Board, or Post Graduate Diploma in Radiology/Radio Diagnosis. Basic computer knowledge and knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi.
• Pathologist: MD (Pathology), or Diplomate of National Board, or Post Graduate Diploma in Pathology. Basic computer knowledge and knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi.
• Legal Officer: Post graduate degree in law (LLM) from a recognized university. Either 10 years of continuous practice in civil, criminal and labour courts after enrolment, OR 5 years of legal experience in a government/semi-government post at Pay Level 8 or above.
• Vice Principal (Suman School): Post graduate degree in any faculty plus a B.Ed. degree. Experience of 10 years as a teacher in a secondary school.
• Departmental Inquiry Officer: Law graduate from a recognized university. At least 10 years of work experience in Labour Court, Industrial Tribunal, conciliation and similar bodies. Preference to those who worked as an arbitrator.
• Deputy Engineer (Instrumentation): B.E./B.Tech in Instrumentation or Instrumentation & Control Engineering. At least 5 years of proven experience in design, development, maintenance and calibration of instruments (flow, pressure, temperature, sensors, transmitters, water/chemical treatment).
• Assistant Engineer (Instrumentation): B.E./B.Tech in Instrumentation or Instrumentation & Control Engineering from a recognized university.
• Supervisor (Instrumentation): B.E./B.Tech in Instrumentation/Instrumentation & Control, OR a Diploma in the same field with at least 2 years of experience in instrumentation work in a government body, local body, government undertaking or a company registered under the Companies Act, 1956.

Common requirements: Basic computer knowledge as per the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967 is needed for most posts. Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi, or both, is required.

Maximum age (counted on 23/11/2026):

Age relaxation: Reserved category candidates (of Gujarat origin) get relaxation as per current Gujarat government rules. The age limit cannot go above 45 years. Women candidates also get relaxation as per government rules. Divyang candidates get relaxation as per the rules.

Existing employees: The age limit does not apply to regular SMC employees, who are paid on a regular pay scale. For trainees on fixed pay in SMC, the age limit rules apply.

Reservation rules:

• Reserved posts for SC, ST, SEBC and EWS are only for candidates of that category who belong to the state of Gujarat.
• Reserved category candidates can also apply for unreserved posts, but the unreserved rules apply to them.
• Divyang (PwD) candidates need at least 40% benchmark disability and must give their disability details clearly in the application.

Experience rule: Experience counts only after getting the required degree. Experience gained before it is not accepted.

2. Open the recruitment section and read the advertisement PRO/301 (21/10/2026) carefully. Check the rules and your eligibility.
3. Register as a new user (User Registration):
   • Enter your email address, mobile number and captcha, then click Next.
   • Enter the OTP sent to your mobile number and verify it.
   • Enter your first name, last name and a password, then click Submit.
   • Verify your email address through the link sent to your email, then log in.
4. Fill in your User Profile with name, date of birth, Aadhaar number and address. The name and date of birth must match your school leaving certificate. Also select the languages you know (English, Hindi, Gujarati).
5. Go to Home, find your post and click Apply Now. Open the PDF of the advertisement attached to the post and read it once more.
6. Fill in the application form step by step:
   • Personal details (fields marked with a red asterisk are compulsory)
   • Educational qualification, then experience details with employer name, period, designation and monthly salary
   • Document details - tick the documents you hold and keep the originals for verification
   • Enter the code shown by the system, then accept the declaration
7. Upload your photo and signature in JPG/JPEG/PNG format (photo up to 150 KB, signature up to 50 KB).
8. Preview the form, check every detail, and click Confirm & Pay. Pay the fee online (Rs. 500 for General; Rs. 400 for women, SC, ST, SEBC, EWS and Divyang candidates).
9. Download and print the payment receipt and the final application. Keep them safe.
10. Submit the online application between 09/11/2026 (11:00 AM) and 23/11/2026 (11:00 PM). Later you can print your call letter from your profile when the exam date is announced.

• Marksheets and degree certificates of all qualifications (attempt certificate if needed)
• Marksheet with a percentage conversion certificate if grades are shown

Category and Reservation Documents

• Caste certificate for SC, ST and SEBC candidates, in the Gujarati format issued by the competent authority (the English Annexure-A is not accepted)
• Non-Creamy Layer certificate for SEBC candidates in the prescribed Gujarati format (Parishishta-4), issued on or after 01/04/2024, valid as per rules
• EWS certificate in the Gujarati format as per the Social Justice and Empowerment Department resolution, valid up to the last date of application
• Disability certificate and UDID card for Divyang candidates
