Qualification:

• Engineering graduate, preferably in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Communication, Electronics & Telecommunications, Computer Science or AI/ML.
• Postgraduate in AI/ML, Communication, Tele-Communication or Micro-Electronics Embedded Systems is desirable.

Experience: Technical or operational experience at a senior management level in a reputed organisation. In the last 10 years, at least 5 years must be spent leading significant R&D projects in AI/ML, Communication, Tele-Communication, Micro Electronics and Embedded Systems (research, design, development) in the Defence Sector.

Age (as on date of vacancy, 01.04.2027):

• Minimum age is 45 years.
• Age of superannuation is 60 years.
• Internal candidates must have at least 2 years of residual service on the date of vacancy.
• Other candidates must have at least 3 years of residual service on the date of vacancy.

Employment status: The applicant must be in a regular post (not contractual or ad-hoc) on both the application date and the interview date, in one of these:

• Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE), including a full-time functional Director on a CPSE Board.
• Central Government Group 'A' officer, including Armed Forces and All India Services, or officers of Public Sector Banks, Financial Institutions and Autonomous Bodies.
• State Public Sector Enterprise (SPSE) with annual turnover of Rs. 5,000 crore or more.
• Private company, 50:50 JV or national/state cooperative federation with annual turnover of Rs. 5,000 crore or more. Listed companies are preferred, and private applicants are ranked by turnover.

Turnover is the average audited turnover of the three financial years before the calendar year of advertisement.

Minimum service in the eligible scale is 1 year for internal candidates and 2 years for others, as on the date of vacancy.

Other than CPSEs:

• Central Government Group 'A' / AIS / Autonomous Body officers must hold a substantive post of Joint Secretary level or equivalent. Officers drawing the scale only through NFU or Next Below Rule are not eligible.
• Public Sector Bank or Financial Institution applicants must hold a Board-level post, or the level immediately below, for one year on the application date.
• Armed Forces applicants must hold the rank of Major General or equivalent in Navy/Air Force.
• SPSE, private, JV and Federation applicants must work at Board level or the level immediately below on the application date.
