Eligibility

Educational qualification:

  • B.E / B.Tech / B.Sc (4 years) Engineering from an AICTE approved college.
  • Electronics post: Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Electronics and Telecommunication, Communication or Telecommunication.
  • Mechanical post: Mechanical.
  • First class in AMIE / AMIETE / GIETE in the above disciplines is also accepted.
  • Other equivalent disciplines and dual specialisations will not be considered.

Age proof: Only the Matriculation/Higher Secondary certificate with date of birth is accepted. A birth certificate is accepted only if the date is missing there.

Category conditions:

  • EWS: Certificate based on income of FY 2025-26, issued on or after 01.04.2026, with photo pasted, signed and stamped.
  • OBC (NCL): Caste must be in the Central List. Certificate issued on or after 01.10.2025 in the latest format. Creamy layer candidates must apply as Unreserved.
  • SC/ST: Caste must be in the Central List, with a certificate in the latest government format showing the date of issue.
  • PwBD: At least 40% disability with the latest format certificate. Conditions "likely to improve" are not eligible.
  • Ex-servicemen: Annexure-3 signed by the competent authority.

Other conditions: Only Indian nationals can apply. Trainee/Project/Fixed Tenure Engineers in BEL and dependents of BEL employees must apply as external candidates.

How to apply

  1. Read the full advertisement on the BEL careers page (bel-india.in) and check your eligibility.
  2. Keep these ready: a valid personal e-mail ID and mobile number, a recent passport-size colour photo, and your scanned signature.
  3. Click the Register link on the BEL portal. Step I is Sign-Up:
    • Enter personal and contact details and click Generate OTP
    • Verify both OTPs sent to your mobile and e-mail
    • Tick I Agree, re-verify details and Submit to receive your User ID and password
  4. Step II: Log in and click Go To Application. Fill Personal Details, Additional Details, Communication Details, Qualification Details and the Declaration.
  5. Upload your photo and signature in JPG/JPEG:
    • Photo: white background, not older than 3 months, 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm, 100-200 KB
    • Signature: black ink on white paper, 80-150 KB
  6. Choose 5 CBT test centres nearest to you from Annexure-A (Gujarat: Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vadodara).
  7. Click Preview, check every detail and Submit. You cannot edit after submitting.
  8. If you are General/EWS/OBC (NCL), pay Rs. 1,180 online through SBI e-Pay Lite by 18.11.2026 (11:59 PM).
  9. Print the application form and the payment slip and keep them. Do not send hard copies to BEL.

Important notes

General Guidelines

  1. The number of posts in each discipline may increase or decrease at the Management's discretion.
  2. Selected candidates will get 6 months of orientation / on-the-job training and must sign a 2-year Service Agreement. Rs. 2,00,000 is payable for breach.
  3. Appointment depends on medical fitness. Colour blindness makes a candidate unsuitable for both disciplines.
  4. Candidates can be posted to any place in India or any BEL unit or department.
  5. The basic pay scale is due for revision from 01.01.2027.
  6. Candidates can choose English or Hindi for the CBT and the interview.
  7. Any revision or corrigendum will be posted only on the Careers section of www.bel-india.in.

Application and Fee

  1. Category once filled cannot be changed. All details in the form are final and cannot be edited after submission.
  2. The fee is non-refundable and cannot be held for any other recruitment.
  3. Only one application per post. If you apply more than once, only the one with the higher Application Sequence Number is considered, and fee is not adjusted.
  4. Not paying the fee leads to rejection for UR, EWS and OBC (NCL) candidates.
  5. Do not wait for the last date. BEL is not responsible for last-minute rush problems.

Selection Rules

  1. Only candidates whose applications are accepted are shortlisted for the CBT.
  2. Minimum qualifying marks: 35% for General/OBC/EWS and 30% for SC/ST/PwBD, separately in the CBT and the interview.
  3. Candidates are shortlisted for interview in the ratio of 1:5, discipline-wise and category-wise.
  4. Final selection is based on the CBT (85) and interview (15).
  5. Travel cost for the CBT is not reimbursed. Outstation candidates called for interview get AC Chair Car or 3-tier AC train fare by the shortest route.
  6. No request to change test centre, city or state will be accepted. BEL may change the centre if needed.
  7. Candidates whose degree specialisation does not match the branch in the application will not be called for interview.

Communication and Document Verification

  1. The CBT call letter must be downloaded from the BEL website. It is not sent by e-mail or post.
  2. Keep your e-mail ID and mobile number active throughout the process.
  3. Mere registration does not mean you are eligible. Original documents are checked at verification.
  4. Candidates employed in Government/PSU/autonomous bodies must give an NOC at the time of interview.
  5. No separate message is sent for non-selection at any stage.
  6. Admission to any stage is provisional. BEL can debar a candidate at any stage.

Fraud and Canvassing Warning

  1. BEL does not ask for money at any stage except the application fee. Do not trust anyone asking for payment for a job.
  2. Canvassing leads to disqualification.
  3. False or hidden information leads to cancellation, or termination if found after joining.
  4. BEL may take legal and criminal action against fraudsters.
