GMRC Operations & Maintenance Bharti 2026 invites applications for 16 posts across Traction, Signalling and Rolling Stock. Engineers with a B.E./B.Tech degree and relevant experience can apply online by 21 October 2026.

The recruitment is under Notification No. GMRCL/HR/RECT/O&M/Oct-2026/27, dated 1 October 2026. GMRC is a 50:50 SPV of the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat, handling Ahmedabad Metro Phase-I and II and Surat Metro Phase-I, along with their operations and maintenance. Posts are on Contract, Deputation or Post-superannuation basis for a minimum of 3 years, extendable up to 5 years based on performance. The O&M posts are based at Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, and selected candidates may be posted at any GMRC project in Gujarat.

Educational Qualification and Experience (post-wise)

• Sr. Deputy General Manager (Traction): B.E./B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical and Electronics. Minimum 15 years of post-qualification executive-level experience in a reputed private organization, or 11 years in Government/PSU. Experience in planning, technical specification, contracts, installation, testing, commissioning, statutory approvals or maintenance of electric traction / HV power systems.
• Deputy General Manager (Signalling): B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Telecommunications, Applied Electronics, Industrial Electronics, Power Electronics, Instrumentation or equivalent. Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience in private sector, or 8 years in PSU/Metro Corporation, in Signalling/PSD system works in Railways, Metro, LRT or Sub-urban Rail.
• Manager (Signalling): Same engineering disciplines as above. Minimum 9 years of post-qualification experience in private sector, or 7 years in PSU/Metro Corporation.
• Asst. Manager (Signalling): Same engineering disciplines as above. Minimum 7 years of post-qualification experience in private sector, or 5 years in Govt/PSU/Metro Rail Corporation.
• Asst. Manager (Rolling Stock): B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Power Electronics, Instrumentation or equivalent. Minimum 7 years of supervisory-grade post-qualification experience in private sector, or 5 years in Government/PSU. Experience in rolling stock planning, specification, contracts, installation, testing, commissioning or maintenance.
• Sr. Section Engineer (Rolling Stock): B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communications, Power Electronics or Instrumentation. Minimum 6 years of post-qualification experience in maintenance of Rolling Stock / M&P.
• Sr. Section Engineer (Signalling): B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Electronics and Telecommunications, Applied/Industrial/Power Electronics or Instrumentation. Minimum 6 years of post-qualification experience in Signalling (CBTC/AFTC/PSD) in Metro Rail/Railways.
• Section Engineer (Rolling Stock): Same disciplines as Sr. Section Engineer (Rolling Stock). Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in maintenance of Rolling Stock / M&P.

Maximum Age (as on 01/10/2026)

Age limit does not apply to GMRCL employees. Age relaxation does not apply to officials re-employed in GMRCL after superannuation. Category-wise relaxation is not stated.

Pay-scale Eligibility (for IDA/CDA scale candidates)

• Sr. DGM: presently in IDA ₹80,000-2,20,000 or higher (Level 11 CDA); OR at least 2 years in IDA ₹70,000-2,00,000 (Level 10); OR, for post-superannuation, presently working or retired from IDA ₹80,000-2,20,000 or above. Private sector: minimum CTC ₹1,20,000 per month.
• DGM: presently in IDA ₹70,000-2,00,000 or higher (Level 10); OR at least 2 years in IDA ₹60,000-1,80,000 (Level 9); OR, for post-superannuation, presently working or retired from IDA ₹70,000-2,00,000 or above. Private sector: minimum CTC ₹1,00,000 per month.
• Manager: presently in IDA ₹60,000-1,80,000 or higher (Level 8); OR at least 2 years in IDA ₹50,000-1,60,000 (Level 7). Private sector: minimum CTC ₹90,000 per month.
• Asst. Manager: presently in IDA ₹50,000-1,60,000; OR 2 years in Non-Executive ₹46,000-1,45,000 / Executive ₹40,000-1,40,000 / Level 6; OR 4 years in Non-Executive ₹40,000-1,25,000 / Executive ₹35,000-1,10,000. Private sector: minimum CTC ₹70,000 per month.
• Sr. Section Engineer: at least 2 years in IDA ₹40,000-1,25,000 or above in Metro Rail/Railways/PSU/Govt; OR 4 years in IDA ₹35,000-1,10,000. Private sector: monthly CTC of about ₹50,000.
• Section Engineer: at least 2 years in IDA ₹35,000-1,10,000 or above; OR 5 years in IDA ₹33,000-1,00,000. Private sector: monthly CTC of about ₹45,000.

Deputation and Internal Candidates

• Employees of Indian Railways, Metro Rail, State or Central Govt. PSUs/Boards can apply on deputation under their parent organization terms.
• GMRC staff with at least 2 years of service in their present designation and grade as on 01/10/2026 may apply through proper channel.
