- Rural youth aged 15 to 35 years - Belonging to economically disadvantaged rural families - Training is currently starting in 14 States/UTs: Odisha, Mizoram, Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Puducherry, Karnataka, Telangana and Bihar - Check the official portal for the latest state-wise list and any further eligibility conditions
- Placement-linked skill training for rural youth - Training duration from 3 months to 12 months depending on the course - First phase: 1,164 batches covering about 34,920 youth from October 2026 - Overall target: 3,57,112 rural youth to be trained by 31 December 2027
- Student who is a resident of Gujarat - Taking admission in a higher education course covered by the scheme - Family income within the limit set by the scheme (reported as about Rs 6 lakh a year; check the portal for the current limit) - Minimum marks in the qualifying Class 10 or 12 exam as per the course (a third-party site reports 80% for Diploma) - Renewal applicants must meet the pass-marks and attendance conditions on the portal - Students holding an income certificate from 2023-24 must get a fresh one by the application deadline or 31 March 2027, whichever is earlier
- Tuition fee assistance for eligible students in medical, engineering, diploma and other degree courses - Reported yearly amounts (from a third-party site, so confirm on the portal): up to Rs 2 lakh for medical, Rs 50,000 for engineering and professional courses, Rs 25,000 for diploma and Rs 10,000 for other undergraduate courses - Hostel and books/equipment support for eligible students
