Educational Qualification by Post

  • Gynecologist (Class 1): MBBS from a recognised university, MD (Gynecology) or Post Graduate Diploma in Gynecology, and Gujarat Medical Council registration.
  • Pediatrician (Class 1): MBBS, MD (Pediatrics) or PG Diploma in Pediatrics, and Gujarat Medical Council registration.
  • Food Analyst (Class 2): Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Dairy Chemistry, Agriculture Science, Animal Science, Fisheries Science, Biotechnology, Food Safety, Food Technology, Food and Nutrition, Dairy Technology, Oil Technology or Veterinary Sciences, or Associate of Institution of Chemists (India) in Food Analysts. At least 3 years of food analysis experience and qualification as Food Analyst by a board notified by the Food Authority.
  • Medical Officer (Class 2): MBBS from a recognised university and registration with Medical Council of India under the Gujarat Medical Council Act, 1967.
  • Staff Nurse (Class 3): Basic B.Sc (Nursing) from an Indian Nursing Council recognised institute, OR a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery from a recognised university.
  • Senior Clerk - Tax Inspector / Recovery Officer (Class 3): Graduate from a recognised university and 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Clerk cum Computer Data Entry Operator - Fire Prevention (Class 3): Graduate from a recognised university with CCC course pass and basic computer knowledge as per Gujarat Civil Services rules, 1967.

  • SEBC candidates need a Non-Creamy Layer certificate (Gujarat format) issued between 01/04/2024 and 17/11/2026. Certificates for married women must be based on parents' income.
  • EWS candidates need a Gujarat Government EWS certificate (Annexure KH / Parishishta-Ga) issued between 17/11/2023 and 17/11/2026. Central Income and Asset certificates are not valid.
  • Only original Gujarat reservation candidates get the benefit of reservation and relaxation.

Persons with Disability

  • Minimum 40% disability is required for PwD reservation.
  • The certificate must be in FORM V, VI or VII as per Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017.

Important notes

General Guidelines

  1. The number of vacancies may increase or decrease.
  2. Reserved vacancies are only for original Gujarat reserved category candidates.
  3. Reservation for women follows the General Administration Department notification dated 11/11/2014. If no suitable woman candidate is found, the post goes to a male candidate of the same category.
  4. The Commissioner can cancel the recruitment, change posts or vacancy numbers, or modify any condition without giving reasons.
  5. The written exam is a single-stage MCQ test in CBRT/OMR mode. The level matches the post's educational qualification.
  6. The written exam is usually held in Gandhinagar or Ahmedabad. Candidates must attend at their own expense and no travelling allowance is paid.
  7. Final selection is based on written exam and interview marks where applicable. The Staff Selection Committee under Section 54 of the Gujarat Provincial Municipal Corporation Act, 1949 conducts selection.
  8. The waiting list is not a selection list.
  9. Candidates must score the minimum qualifying marks set by the Corporation to be considered further.

Eligibility Conditions

  1. Qualification, experience and age are counted as on 17/11/2026 or the date fixed by the Corporation before interview.
  2. Experience gained as part-time, daily-wage, apprentice, trainee, honorarium, visiting faculty or in-charge work is not counted. Experience during study is also not counted.
  3. Private sector experience may require salary bank statements and Form-16 or ITR to be shown.
  4. Foreign university degrees need University Grants Commission equivalence proof from the candidate.
  5. Candidates who have been disqualified by any commission or government body must disclose it. An active disqualification leads to cancellation.
  6. Candidates earlier removed, dismissed or compulsorily retired from government service must show proof at verification.
  7. Gynecologist (05) and Pediatrician (06) get two years' probation. IMC/Medical Council registration must be shown before joining. Private practice is barred after joining.
  8. Staff Nurse (09) has one post reserved for ex-servicemen and one for PwD (Low Vision). If no eligible candidate is available, the post is filled from other merit candidates.
  9. Employees of Jamnagar Municipal Corporation who apply and get appointed will be treated as fresh appointment without continuity of service.
  10. Gynecologist, Pediatrician and Staff Nurse posts are 100% State Government grant based under the Gujarat Urban Health Project. These posts depend on state grant approval.

Application & Fee

  1. Fee is Rs 1000 for unreserved, SEBC and EWS male candidates. Fee is Rs 500 for all women, SC, ST, ex-servicemen and PwD candidates.
  2. Fee can be paid online only. Last time to pay fee is 18/11/2026 at 23:59.
  3. Fee is non-refundable and cannot be used for another exam. Duplicate payments are not refunded.
  4. Paying fee alone does not confirm the application. Download E-RECEIPT (Candidate's Copy) from OJAS. If it cannot be downloaded, the fee has not reached the Corporation.
  5. After submission, withdrawing or cancelling an application is not allowed.
  6. Changes to category, gender or date of birth after confirmation are not allowed. To correct details, apply again before the last date and pay the fee again.
  7. If several applications are made for one post, the last confirmed one is valid.
  8. Applicants already in Government, quasi-Government or Government-owned corporations may apply directly but must inform their office within 7 days. They need a No Objection Certificate at interview.

  5. Women candidates may apply with their husband's name only if they hold a marriage registration certificate or Gazette. Others apply with father's name and must show a Government Gazette if selected.
  6. Widow candidates must submit an affidavit of non-remarriage.
  7. Candidates may be asked to send the application, enclosures and e-receipt copy by RPAD or Speed Post, or submit it in person.

Reservation Benefits

  1. Widow candidates get 5% extra marks on their MCQ-OMR exam score if they have not remarried at appointment.
  2. Recognised sports persons (State/National/Inter-University/School Federation level) get 5% extra marks and must show the required certificate at verification.
  3. If a candidate qualifies in more than one special category (ex-servicemen, PwD, women, widow), the benefit that is most favourable applies.
