Important notes

General Guidelines

  1. The number of posts is provisional and may change as per company needs.
  2. Meeting the minimum qualification does not guarantee a call for the selection process. OIL may raise the minimum standards if applications are very large, so mention all qualifications and experience above the minimum.
  3. OIL may cancel, restrict, enlarge, modify or alter the recruitment process without notice or reason.
  4. The management's decision is final and binding on eligibility, acceptance or rejection, mode of selection and cancellation. No enquiry is entertained.
  5. Any dispute is under the jurisdiction of the Dibrugarh District Court only.
  6. If more than one application is received, the latest one is final. Fee paid for one application cannot be adjusted against another.
  7. A submitted application cannot be withdrawn or edited. Candidates are wholly responsible for the information given.

Eligibility Conditions

  1. Date of birth is verified only from the Matriculation / 10th Admit Card, Pass Certificate or Marksheet. No other document is accepted.
  2. Candidates in PSU or Government service must bring an NOC at document verification or interview. Without it, they may be allowed provisionally on an undertaking to submit the NOC within the stipulated time, or to produce a relieving letter before joining.
  3. The candidature is provisional and subject to verification of all documents from the issuing authorities.
  4. Appointment is subject to medical fitness as per OIL's standards. Pre-Employment Medical Examination is at OIL Hospital, Duliajan, Assam, or by a Government Medical Officer not below the rank of Civil Surgeon, or an authorised doctor at an empanelled hospital.
  5. Candidates need a minimum of 20 years of continuous service in OIL / any CPSE / Government to receive Post-Retirement Medical Benefits on superannuation.

Application and Fee

  1. The fee is non-refundable and cannot be kept for any other selection process. Check your eligibility before paying.
  2. Calculation of percentage must follow university rules. Rounding off is not allowed.
  3. One email ID and mobile number cannot be used by two candidates.

Selection and Test Day

  1. For Grade B and C posts, the CBT carries 100 marks (85% weight) and the Personal Interview carries 15 marks. Final Score = (CBT marks x 0.85) + PI marks out of 15. No other scaling is allowed on PI marks.
  2. For Grade A posts, the CBT is the only basis for merit. The Skill Test is qualifying only.
  3. CBT duration is 1 hour 30 minutes. Candidates with benchmark disabilities get 20 minutes per hour of compensatory time. A scribe is allowed with a certificate from a Government Chief Medical Officer, Civil Surgeon or Medical Superintendent as per Appendix-I or I(A). The candidate arranges the scribe at own cost, and the scribe's qualification must be one level below that of the post.
  4. Candidates must carry a valid photo ID (PAN, Driving Licence, Voter ID, Aadhaar, Passport etc.) for the test.
  5. An admit card does not mean the candidature is accepted. An admit card issued by mistake to an ineligible candidate is invalid.
  6. Candidates called for interview or skill test get AC-II tier train fare (base fare, excluding premium trains) on production of tickets. For travel within the Northeast and up to Kolkata, economy air fare is paid with proof. No travel expense is paid for the CBT.
  7. Candidates arrange their own lodging and boarding. OIL does not provide accommodation or storage for belongings.

Communication and Document Verification

  1. All communication is by email and SMS. Check your spam folder. OIL is not responsible for loss or non-delivery due to wrong contact details.
  2. Announcements are published only on www.oil-india.com.
  3. Documents are cross-checked in original at the interview or skill test. If any false, doctored or incorrect information is found, the candidature is cancelled and the candidate is blacklisted from applying to OIL in future.
  4. Appointment can be cancelled even after joining if information is false, documents are fake, or an adverse character report is received.

Fraud and Canvassing Warning

  1. Canvassing in any form cancels the candidature.
  2. Beware of fake appointment letters or job assurances. OIL does not authorise any outsider to offer jobs on its behalf and is not responsible for losses from fake offers.
