Important notes

General Guidelines

  1. Apply only through the official link. Beware of fake websites, touts and agents; RRBs have appointed no agent or coaching centre.
  2. Vacancies are provisional and may increase, decrease or be cancelled.
  3. Keep your mobile number and email active throughout the recruitment. They cannot be changed.
  4. Exam city, centre, date and shift cannot be changed under any circumstances. You may have to travel to another city or state.
  5. Cloak room facility may not be available. Mobile phones, watches, calculators, pens, bags and food items are banned in the test centre.
  6. Do not apply Mehndi on hands as it affects biometric capture.

Application and Fee

  1. Only one application is allowed. Multiple applications lead to rejection and lifetime debarment from RRB and RRC exams.
  2. Fee paid for incomplete, unsubmitted or rejected applications is not refunded.
  3. Refund is credited to your Aadhaar-seeded bank account. A family member's Aadhaar-seeded account may be used.
  4. Changing community from SC/ST/concession category to UR/OBC/EWS needs the Rs. 250 fee difference plus the modification fee.

Exam and Selection

  1. Shortlisting for the 2nd Stage CBT is 15 times the community-wise vacancies. Shortlisting for DV and medical is 1:1.
  2. Normalisation of marks is applied when CBTs are held in multiple shifts.
  3. Ties are broken by age (older candidate ranks higher), then alphabetical order of given name.
  4. Selection by RRB gives no right of appointment. Candidates must pass the medical test and verification of character and antecedents.
  5. Once empanelled, candidates cannot be considered for other posts in the same pay level.
  6. Candidates may be posted anywhere and cannot seek transfer for 5 to 10 years.

Communication and Document Verification

  1. E-call letters are released about 4 days before CBT and city intimation about 10 days before, on the official RRB website only. No letters are sent by post.
  2. Carry the e-call letter, an original photo ID and a colour passport photo not older than 2 months to exams, DV and medical.
  3. At the exam hall, write the self-declaration paragraph, sign and give LTI on the spot. Writing it in advance or signing in capital letters leads to rejection.
  4. Bring original certificates and two sets of self-attested photocopies at DV. Absence or missing originals can cancel candidature.
  5. Certificates must be in the prescribed formats and in English or Hindi (with translation if needed).

Fraud and Malpractice Warning

  1. Unfair means, impersonation or false information leads to lifetime debarment, dismissal if appointed, and legal action under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act.
  2. Biometrics, photo, signature, handwriting and CCTV are verified at every stage.
