Educational Qualification

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering from a Technical Examination Board, or from a university or institution established under a Central or State Act, or a recognised/deemed university, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government.
  • Candidates holding a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering are NOT eligible.
  • Basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed under the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
  • Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi, or both.

Reservation and Category Conditions

  • Reservation and age relaxation for SC, ST, SEBC and EWS are available only to candidates of Gujarat origin.
  • SEBC candidates need a Non-Creamy Layer certificate (Gujarati Appendix-4 format, income of FY 2022-23/2023-24/2024-25, obtained between 01/04/2024 and 29/10/2026) or the Central Government Annexure-A certificate obtained between 01/04/2026 and 29/10/2026. Without it, they are treated as General category.
  • Married SEBC women must submit the certificate based on their parents' income; a certificate based on the husband's income leads to cancellation.
  • EWS candidates need the Gujarat EWS certificate (Annexure-KH/Appendix-ga) obtained between 30/10/2023 and 29/10/2026, or an Income and Asset Certificate for FY 2025-26 obtained between 01/04/2026 and 29/10/2026. No other certificate is accepted.
  • Reserved category candidates applying against unreserved posts get no age or other relaxation.

Disability (Divyang) Candidates

  • Benefit of reservation and age relaxation is given only with a Civil Surgeon certificate showing 40% or more disability, in Form V, VI or VII as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017.
  • Candidates must mention the percentage and type of disability in Personal Details of the online form.
  • Recognised disability groups: Low Vision, Deaf/Hard of Hearing, Locomotor disability (One Arm, Both Legs, One Leg, Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victim, Spinal Deformity/Injury), Autism, Intellectual Disability, Specific Learning Disability, Mental Illness and Multiple Disabilities.
  • Scribe and compensatory time (20 minutes per hour) can be requested for eligible candidates.

Ex-Servicemen

  • 10% posts are reserved for ex-servicemen under the rules.
  • Must have served at least 6 months in the Navy, Air Force or Army and hold an ex-servicemen ID card and discharge book.
  • Those retiring within one year of the last date to apply can also apply.

Widow Candidates

Widow women candidates get 5% extra marks on their exam score, provided they have not remarried at the time of appointment.

Sports Persons

Candidates who represented at National/International, Inter-University or School Federation of India level in listed sports get 5% extra marks, with a valid certificate from the competent authority.

  1. Complete the OJAS One Time Registration (OTR) first if you have not done so. Only OTR-registered candidates can apply.
  2. Visit the official website https://ojas.gujarat.gov.in.
  3. Go to Online Application, click Apply and select GSSSB.
  4. Find Advertisement No. 461/202627, Work Assistant, Class-3, and click Apply. Use More Details to read the full notification.
  5. Click Apply now, enter your Registration No. and date of birth, and click Apply with OTR.
  6. Check the Personal Details (pre-filled from OTR) and fill all fields marked with a red star (*).
  7. Fill SSC details such as roll number, passing month and year, name as per marksheet and board name.
  8. Enter bank account details for fee refund:
    • Name as per passbook, bank name, IFSC code and account number
    • Upload the first page of the passbook (JPEG, JPG or PNG)
  9. Fill Educational Details, accept the Declaration by selecting Yes, and click Save to get your Application Number.
  10. Upload your photo and signature using the Application Number and birth date:
    • Photo size 5 cm height × 3.6 cm width; signature 2.5 cm height × 7.5 cm width
    • JPG format, maximum 15 KB each
    • Passport-size photo with white background and date, taken within the last 1 year
  11. Review the form carefully, edit if needed, then click Confirm Application to get your Confirmation Number. No changes are possible after confirmation.
  12. Pay the fee online (Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI or Wallet) by 01/11/2026 (23:59) through Print Application Form / Pay Fees, and save the fee receipt.
  13. Print the application form and keep it safe until the whole recruitment process ends.

Application and Fee

  1. Fill the application using details from your original certificates. Wrong details can cancel your application.
  2. If more than one application is submitted, only the last confirmed one is valid and the rest are cancelled; fees paid on multiple applications are not refunded.
  3. Category cannot be changed after the application is confirmed. To correct any detail, apply again before the last date and pay the fee for the new Confirmation Number.
  4. Fee is accepted only online; the payment link closes automatically after the fee deadline and no late fee is taken.
  5. Application without fee payment is cancelled without notice. Fee is not refunded if the application is cancelled by the Board.
  6. Keep a printout or e-receipt of the fee payment; without a receipt, the fee is not considered paid.

Exam and Result

  1. Provisional answer key will be published after the exam, and the final key after considering objections.
  2. If any question is cancelled in the final key, marks are adjusted on a pro-rata basis.
  3. Part-A and Part-B each have a separate minimum qualifying standard of 40%.
  4. About twice the number of posts (category-wise) of candidates will be called for document verification.
  5. Passing the exam does not guarantee appointment. Appointed candidates must complete the prescribed training and pass the training exam.

Communication and Document Verification

  1. Keep your mobile number and email ID active until the process ends, as SMS and email updates will be sent there.
  2. Keep 4-5 copies of the same photo used in the application; the same photo must be used at every stage.
  3. Details given in the form are final and must match original certificates at verification, otherwise the application is cancelled.
  4. Candidates with a foreign university degree must submit UGC equivalence proof within the verification period.
  5. Candidates without a computer knowledge certificate must submit proof of passing the basic computer exam before appointment, otherwise selection is cancelled.

Fraud and Unfair Means Warning

  1. Canvassing or influencing Board members or officers, impersonation, fake documents, hiding facts or copying in the exam can lead to disqualification and criminal action.
  2. The Gujarat Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2023 applies to this exam.
  3. Candidates already disqualified by GPSC or other recruitment bodies during an active disqualification period will have their application cancelled automatically.
